Melanie began her journey in developing Embrace U Consultancy in 2017 following a number of life changing experiences both personally and professionally. Looking to embrace an authentic, peaceful and calm life, Melanie drew on her previous experience working as a freelance Assessor, Trainer and Mentor and made it her decision to share her passions, knowledge and experience with others. On becoming a local UK Registered Learning Provider, DWP and MOJ approved supplier and working towards becoming an AIM Awards Centre, Melanie now works with vulnerable groups and those re-evaluating their life choices. She specialises in Empowering Support Solutions in Mentoring, Personal Growth, Employability Management Training and Signposting Support.
Melanie told us “I was already familiar with the D2N2, due to a project I worked on in a previous role before embarking on my EUC journey, but not how widespread D2N2 was in its service offerings. Sept 2017 was when I contacted NBV. I had my first meeting with Kevin Horsnall who has been and still is an invaluable support mechanism, always there to offer advice, support and guidance as my business continues to grow. We have shared my ups and downs and there is always a supportive word to lift me back up and telling me I’m on the right track.”
In January of this year, Melanie signed up to the 3-day Business Start Up Workshop led by trainer Mike Howsley. This benefitted Melanie, who said that the course “offered me invaluable information on the structure of setting up a business and refreshed all my knowledge on the legalities. I was also able to meet some other amazing business owners on the same journey, many of whom I am still in contact with today.”
Paramount to self-development is one of Melanie’s favourite mottos “If you don’t know, how can you do?” Learning new skills through her mentoring and workshop experience at NBV has been a vital aid in Melanie’s business development and she enthuses “A lot of what I have gained from working with NBV I have been able to share with others to help them on their journey.
