Bassetlaw businesses and entrepreneurs will have the chance to pitch for a £5,000 prize as part of a Dragon’s Den style event to be hosted by Bassetlaw District Council on the evening of Wednesday 15th March.

The Bassetlaw Dragons’ Den event is intended to give businesses or individuals a cash boost with a new and initiative idea or product that they may need help to create. Should their pitch really impress our Dragons, there may also be the chance of additional investment.

The Council is now inviting applications from all businesses or entrepreneurs who are based in Bassetlaw and have less than 50 employees. From these applications three companies will be selected to go in front of our Dragons and a live audience on 15th March 2017.

Cllr Jo White, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, said: “This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is just starting out in the world of business or for a company who have hit on the next big idea and need a cash boost.

“We’d like to see applications from all sectors of business and I am particularly looking forward to seeing which three businesses will be going head to head in front of our Dragons.” The successful companies who make it through to the final stage will be required to pitch their idea, make a creative presentation and field questions from the Dragons.

Applications for the Bassetlaw Dragons’ Den should be submitted by end of business on Friday 24th February 2017, with the event taking place on Wednesday 15th March at Worksop Town Hall.
