NBV Client Christine Spencer and her staff were delighted to win Tea Room of the Year Award on Tuesday 10th October at the Select Lincolnshire Food, Drink and Hospitality Awards. The annual awards are organised by Select Lincolnshire – who champion, celebrate, showcase and recognise the people and businesses behind Lincolnshire’s billion pound food and farming industry. Having fought off some stiff competition, Christine Spencer announced the win on the business’s Facebook page, commenting “I would personally like to thank the girls for all their hard work and commitment. This was a huge team effort and I am so proud we have got this Award.”
Speaking at the event, Simon Beardsley, Chief Executive at Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce commented “The judging process was tough as there are so many new up and coming businesses all doing great things….We are proud to..showcase Lincolnshire’s finest when it comes to local food, farming and hospitality.”
Receiving the award is especially inspiring for Christine and her team as they have only been open to the public for six months. The sewing inspired coffee shop and eatery provides locals and tourists with light lunches, homemade sewing themed cakes and the ubiquitous afternoon tea. Customers can eat at tables made from treadle sewing machines and there are lots more vintage sewing machines on display.
