The Chief Executive of a Nottingham based not for profit organisation is going the extra mile to raise money for charity.
Richard Dearden, of NBV Enterprise Solutions, will be donning his trainers for the Robin Hood half marathon on the 25th September AND joining a host of other local business people for the CEO Sleepout at Meadow Lane on the 13th October.
Richard says: ‘For years I’ve been talking about having a go at a half marathon and finally decided that this year is the year! I was also delighted to be offered the chance to join the CEO sleepover through our community partners Notts County Football in the Community. I’ve decided that proceeds from both events will go to the CEO Sleepout charity, which aims to tackle homelessness and poverty.”
The CEO Sleepout charity has seen over 560 executives raise more than £791,000 for homeless causes. Sleepouts take place throughout the UK with forthcoming events in London, Manchester, and Newcastle as well as Nottingham.
In Nottingham Richard will be joined by 80 CEO’s, MD’s and Directors from businesses as diverse as accountants, borough councils and housing associations. Richard stated; ‘I’m really looking forward to spending a balmy October night on the terraces at Meadow Lane, particularly as a Forest fan! But it is a fantastic charity and a very worthwhile cause which I’m delighted to be supporting’.
Neil Kelly, Events and Partnership Executive at Notts County Football in the Community Trust said; ‘It’s great that Richard is able to join me and the other participants at the CEO Sleepout, and we are delighted that he has chosen the same charity for the proceeds of his half marathon efforts.
