Employee, worker and the self-employed – what’s the difference?
This Master Class will give you an opportunity to meet and interact with legal professionals, obtain advice and gain a good understanding of the often, complex subject of Employment Law.
Masterclass overview:
NLS Legal Advice Centre Employment Supervising Solicitor Mathew Game will provide advice on the difference between an employee, worker, and the self-employed. The seminar will look into the latest news about the gig economy and zero hours contracts amongst other recent legal updates.
Guest Speaker: Mathew Game
Mathew Game is the Solicitor in the NLS Legal Advice Centre specialising in Employment Law. He supervises students working in NLS on employment law cases and working on employment cases for representation at Tribunals. He selects and trains students working within the NLS Legal Advice Centre and assesses the appropriateness of cases for the Centre. Mathew also takes on his own caseload in addition to providing supervision on matters.
Mathew worked as an Employment Solicitor for several years in private practice and was Head of Employment at a Sheffield firm prior to joining the NLS Legal Advice Centre
