An interview with Andrew Greenstreet, from Andrew Greenstreet Photography

In a world that is predominantly online, we find out from Andrew Greenstreet why he thinks it is so important for businesses to create the right first impression.

Based in Nottingham, Andrew has over ten years as a professional photographer in the music industry and has been running his photography business for 2 ½ years. He states: “Photography brings things alive; it’s a very powerful tool. You can really get your message across and engage with an audience immediately with strong imagery.”

Many new and growing businesses use stock photography as a quick way to create their brand image, but do those photos really get across what your business is about? Andrew states: “A poster campaign, a business website, food, product packaging, the cover of an annual report, the photography you use on all of these may well dictate whether your marketing is a success. Commissioning your own tailor-made, original photography can have far more value than stock libraries and may be a lot more cost effective than you think.”

We asked Andrew what advice he would you give to a new or growing businesses who might be considering a professional company portrait? He tells us: “First impressions only happen once and a handshake is now often performed online with LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook etcetera so it is an important part of your business arsenal. The corporate head shot has never been more important and a well done commercial portrait should possibly be the first thing you should invest in. Just look at Richard Branson and you not only think of Virgin but also you get an immediate feel for the business he fronts. The staged, stuffy head shot is over and the need for a more professional, genuine and genial head shots are in!”

Andrew runs a friendly, service-oriented business, believing that great creativity often is the result of team effort and ensures he gets great value from the images.
