The Business Idea
Kathleen and Sandra, the directors of A & B Inventory Services Ltd, approached NBV in late 2015 for advice and support on how to start up their business idea, producing residential inventories for landlords and agents across Nottinghamshire.
Sandra and Kathleen were given tailored support from their NBV adviser David Hallam, who has helped solidify their business plans.
A full programme of support from NBV along with guidance from David Hallam have given the directors the skills and knowledge to develop financial and marketing plans. They have also benefited from training in IT, social media, marketing and HMRC legislation.
This combined package has provided both directors with a firm strategy on how to execute their plans and make their dreams a reality.

Kathleen and Sandra now have a solid infrastructure for their business which they are now working to deliver. This includes establishing relationships with landlord networks and letting agents, developing a professional website and moving into suitable rented business premises.
In their first two years, the directors plan to recruit two part-time members of staff to handle IT and daily administration.
Their longer term plans include expanding to include the West Midlands region, national brand recognition and sub-contracting full-time inventory clerks to handle the expansion of the business.
